Argaman Technologies Viral Deactivation Face Masks to Hong Kong to fight Coronavirus!

Jerusalem based Argaman Technologies, Ltd. presents its Viral Deactivation Face Masks which are headed to Hong Kong to fight the Coronavirus. The Argaman Face Masks has been found to be more effective than the current N95 standard masks. The N95 mask is designed to filter out particles from the air which are larger than 1/3 of a micron. They are not designed to protect the wearer from disease. In fact, wearing a respirator might be worse than wearing no mask at all as the masks become incubators for proliferating pathogens. So, one could be breathing higher titer levels of pathogens through the mask then that which is in the air!
The original idea of the mask was developed by Jeff Gabbay in cooperation with the Hong Kong Government more than 2 years ago through the Hong Kong Research Institute for Textiles and Apparel, which is a Government-sponsored agency. Argaman owns the patents on the mask.

The new mask which was developed in Jerusalem initially but then moved as a joint project to Hong Kong is reusable, washable, and breathable so that it can be worn for hours at a time in comfort. According to founder and CEO Jeff Gabbay, a highly season inventor with varied backgrounds, the new mask uses its CottonX system for the treatment of the active layers of the mask as well as a completely new nanofiber textile membrane that adds an additional level of protection by blocking pathogens but allow air to freely pass through the mask.

“The pores of the nanofiber pad are so small that bacteria cannot go through it — nor a droplet that contains a live virus –and our EPA-approved 100% CottonX fibers destroy the pathogens that come in contact with it,” Gabbay says. “The mask not only blocks the virus but kills the viruses going both to the wearer and away from the wearer in case the wearer is infected,”

An independent lab found that CottonX remains effective against Staph and E. coli bacteria for 50 industrial washings or 100 home washings.

Argaman has tested their materials against an RNA bacteriophage (a virus that lives in a bacteria) and the demonstrated complete efficacy. The Corona virus is an RNA virus. However, the test has to be done again to comply with FDA claims which Argaman is now involved in doing.

The first 120,000 Bio-Block masks are in production in Argaman’s Jerusalem facility and will retail for about $50. Materials for around 3,000,000 masks have been shipped to various countries. The first retail masks will be available in by the end of March.

An Amazon store will be opened once the masks and other protective products are ready, says Gabbay. Meanwhile, inquiries about orders can be sent to info@argamantech.com.

About Argaman Technologies

Founded in 2012, Argaman Technologies Ltd develops, designs, and manufactures multi-performance permanently self-sterilizing, flame-proof, multifunctional yarns and fabrics.

Argaman uses clean sustainable ultrasonic waves to blast natural compounds into cotton and other fibers so that a permanent mechanical bond is formed between the compound and the substrate. The use of ultrasonic waves is eco-friendly, and the processes also enable textiles to achieve a high level of performance and efficacy.
