JLM-BioCity and Herzog Hospital present:

Brainstorming on Intelligent Rehabilitation Technologies

The field of rehabilitation  is exploding with innovative therapies and opportunities due to the introduction of Internet technologies, AI and robotics. These technologies can be used to help accelerate regaining or improving neurocognitive functions that have been lost or diminished. This event will bring together the different players in Israel, from academia, the clinical world and industry — to communicate what is the state-of-the-art, what are the unmet needs and how these needs can be addressed. Traditional medicine, neuropsychology and physical therapy are getting a boost from computer analytics, data mining and wearable computing (real time monitoring). These technologies are providing a multi-functional impacts:  they provide a more convenient and comfortable experience for the patient thus increasing patient compliance; reduce the workload for the medical staff and providing powerful tools to analyze the data to assess the patient’ s progress. Overall, these technologies reduce the time and resources required to nurse the patient back to optimal health while increasing the productivity and efficiency of the medical staff.

JLM-BioCity is organizing a new series of Brainstorming Sessions. Each session will focus on a particular medical field, where specialists will delineate the unmet needs and inventors will offer solutions. This series is sponsored by Pro Leysin, a Swiss organization dedicated to improve healthcare in Israel by promoting and sustaining health projects. The three upcoming Brainstorming Sessions will be focused on Geriatric Healthcare and will be held at Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem. Geriatrics poses unique problems, both medically and financially. Fostering a dialogue between entrepreneurs, engineers and startups on the one hand and medical professionals and social workers on the other, will create synergies where technologies can better serve the health needs of the elderly.
